The Texas A&M University System Unveils Landmark Nuclear Energy Initiative
The Texas A&M University System has launched a nuclear energy initiative designed to establish the region as a leader in energy innovation. The initiative includes offering land at the RELLIS campus for four advanced nuclear reactor companies to test small modular reactors (SMRs) as part of a project called "The Energy Proving Ground." This collaboration with companies like Kairos Power, Terrestrial Energy, Natura Resources, and Aalo Atomics will accelerate the development of clean, sustainable energy solutions. Invest Greater Brazos

We recently hosted our Invest Greater Brazos quarterly breakfast, with over 70 members in attendance. Dr. Mansoor A. Khan, Interim Dean of the Texas A&M College of Pharmacy, Regents and Distinguished University Professor of Pharmaceutical Science, shared valuable insights on the evolving health and biotech activities at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear updates on key initiatives and economic development efforts shaping the region’s future. This event provided a platform for business leaders and investors to connect and engage with the opportunities ahead.

2025 International Economic Development Conference - February 23-25, 2025
Susan Davenport, President & CEO of the Greater Brazos Partnership, recently spoke on a panel titled "Maximizing Site Selection Relationships" at the 2025 International Economic Development Conference in Washington, D.C. Susan joined Barry Matherly of Hickey Global Economic Development Consulting, Craig Richard of the Tampa Bay EDC, and Catalina Valencia of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to discuss the intricacies of site selection and how to build successful relationships within the profession.
Building a Resilient Texas Symposium at Texas A&M University - February 24-25, 2025
Salman Khan, VP of Economic Development of the Greater Brazos Partnership, participated in a key panel discussion on "Partnerships and Collaborations in FEWH" (Food, Energy, Water, and Health) at the symposium on the food, energy, water, and health nexus as a catalyst for sustainability in Texas and beyond. The session, held at Texas A&M and moderated by Dr. Konstantinos Pappas of the Texas A&M Energy Institute, explored cross-sector partnerships in addressing the challenges of the FEWH sectors. Salman, alongside other panelists, discussed strategies for fostering collaboration and successful partnership models to drive sustainable solutions.
Plug and Play Innovation Triangle Launch - April 22, 2025
The Greater Brazos Region is excited to welcome Plug and Play, a global innovation platform that connects startups with leading corporations. The location officially opens on April 22, 2025, and will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to explore new opportunities in aerospace and defense innovation.
