Lower Cost of Living

The Greater Brazos Region provides a high quality of life at a lower cost. According to Sperling’s Best Places Cost of Living Index, the region scores better than both the national average (100) and Texas (94.2). In contrast, the four major metro areas near the College Station-Bryan metro have significantly higher costs.

Low Crime Rate

The region boasts a notably low crime rate compared to both the state and national averages. With a violent crime rate per 1,000 people of 1.71 and a property crime rate per 1,000 people of 15.03, the county stands as a safe and welcoming community, in contrast to the broader trends across Texas (4.26 and 22.76 respectively) and the United States (3.60 and 18.22 respectively), where crime rates are much higher. These low crime rates make it an attractive place for residents and visitors alike.
